Test Kit

Steps how to reproduce with "LibO 4.0.0.2 rc - GERMAN UI / German Locale [Build ID: 5991f37846fc3763493029c4958b57282c2597e)]" {tinderbox: @6, pull time 2013-01-24 07:20(?)} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with User Profile automatically created form renamed /3 User profile used by 3.6.5.2:

1. Open sample.odt from attached test kit
2. Export to PDF (90%, 600 DPI, JPG) as sample.pdf
3. Open PDF in AR-X
Expected: everything looks as in .odt
Actual: -> Arrow Right in first line (Arial Narrow) shown as rectangle

Reason might be that this symbol character does not exist in Arial Narrow. I think I created that strings line with an other font and then changed to AN. But that never was a problem until 3.6.5.2, I always saw a arrow in PDF exports (see sample3652.pdf in test kit)

Strange: Opening sample4002.pdf with DRAW shows the arrow, but string line looks crippled, arrow at the same place as the "E"

Until now I did not check where that problem started.

pdf 4002 ok

Tested on 4.0.0.2 English-UK UI, Win 8 Pro 32bit, x86. Exported to PDF as per your specs and read in Microsoft PDF Reader. Was not able to replicate issue.

Will test on 4.0.0.3 also.

sample pdf export from LO 4.0.0.3

Here is the export from Libreoffice Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89). Again on Win 8 Pro 32 bit. As you can see it looks OK.

By the way in two different PDF readers I tested with I can see the problems in your test pdf's that you are referring to (So it's not a PDF reader issue).

My pdf export options in the general tab are Range - All, jpeg compression - quality 90%, Reduce Image resolution 600dpi, create pdf form, submit format fdf, export bookmarks.

I tried playing around with those settings but couldn't reproduce the issue.

The other key differences in testing environment that I can see are

1) x32 vs x64
2) English vs. German Locale

I'll see if someone else can test on x64.

Rainer - has this one been solved with recent releases? Can we close as WFM?

Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 049ce78144650d92eb6bd73292868f73d37c901)
TinderBox: Win-x86@6, Branch:master, Time: 2013-03-29_23:59:42 still shows the problem.

Since it's you we're going to just mark this as NEW, feel free to prioritize it however you think is best :)
