today I tried some other vertical frequencies (fps) and found that 24Hz and 40Hz work fine at 2560x1080...
> cvt 2560 1080 40
2560x1080 39.93 Hz (CVT) hsync: 44.25 kHz; pclk: 147.25 MHz
Modeline “2560x1080_40.00” 147.25 2560 2680 2944 3328 1080 1083 1093 1108 -hsync +vsync
when i move a window quite rapidly, it looks not really smooth...
but that is not really a bug, because i have the usual space on my desktop
(it was no fun with those black bars and those overlapping windows *giggle*)...

with the proprietary amdgpu-pro driver i not only get 2560x1080@60Hz but also OpenGL compliance: OpenGL version string: 4.5.13474 Compatibility Profile Context 17.10.2 but the frame rate in SecondLife is still just 5fps... just like b4 with the HD7660D and fglrx... seems like i should send that RX550 back... right? -arne with 4.15.0.1-MANJARO it works fine... -arne |
