Description Carlos Garcia Campos 2007-11-29 01:21:41 UTC
Bug forwarded from Evince: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500351

"When highlighting Chinese characters in the attached PDF, some highlighted
characters change to other random Chinese characters as soon as they are
highlighted, and change back when unhighlighted. See Screenshot1 for "before"
and Screenshot2 for "after". There are several Chinese words on this page that
do the same thing. Probably a bug in UTF8-handling?"

There are screenshots and a test document attached to the original bug report.

A very similar problem was reported by a Debian user:

"When characters like č or š are selected they change into another character. That is different characters are displed in the text when it is selected."

The PDF with this problem is attached to the original bug report, http://bugs.debian.org/453715
