Hello,
        Okular displays Courier in italic typeface, unlike KPDF, which correctly displays in normal typeface.  I've reported this to Debian as well, I'm not sure whose problem it is: (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=469310)
    I have a test pdf and png screenshots comparing Okular and KPDF output.  Here are URLs to them in the Debian bug report.

        Looking at the Font Properties dialogs, Okular and KPDF use two different fonts for Courier:

Okular
Courier Type 1 /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/n022024l.pfb
OTJKZH+CMR10    Type 1C        Yes (subset)

KPDF
Courier Type 1 /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/n022003l.pfb
OTJKZH+CMR10    Type 1C        Yes

Oh yes, okular is using libpoppler-qt4-2 0.6.4-1

What does fc-match Courier return on your system?
