I can reproduce this here. Funny thing is that I could minimize xchat, although minimizing gnome-terminal or xterm made the server become unresponsive. xserver was built with: configure --prefix=/fdo --enable-xv --enable-composite Launching xserver with: ./Xati -screen 1280x1024x16 -mouse /dev/input/mice,5 & xterm -display :0 Launching compositing manager with the obvious way: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/fdo/lib /unstable/bin/xcompmgr And then launching GNOME with: gnome-session& I could reproduce this with both kernel 2.4.21 and 2.6.0-test9. Versions of packages that might be relevant: gcc 3.2.3-1 autoconf 2.58-1 automake 1.7.8-1 gnome-session 2.4.1-1 xfree86 4.3-2 gnome-terminal 2.4.2-1 Hardware information: Tyan S2460 with 2xAthlonMP CPU, ATI Radeon 7500, LCD monitor attached to the DVI port. Including the full output of (lscpi -vvvn) in case it might help. Not really sure what other information would be useful. HTH. Created attachment 78 [details]
Output of (lspci -vvvn)
