Description Ernesto Jiménez 2003-11-19 10:36:06 UTC
It's so strange, when I run the xserver, launch xcompmgr, and try to minimize
the terminal the server hangs, The computer continues working, but it doesn't
respond from the mouse or the keyboard and you get blocked.

I run the CVS version of Xvesa and xcompmgr

I can reproduce this here.
Funny thing is that I could minimize xchat, although minimizing gnome-terminal
or xterm made the server become unresponsive.

xserver was built with: configure --prefix=/fdo --enable-xv --enable-composite
Launching xserver with: ./Xati -screen 1280x1024x16 -mouse /dev/input/mice,5 &
xterm -display :0
Launching compositing manager with the obvious way: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/fdo/lib
/unstable/bin/xcompmgr
And then launching GNOME with: gnome-session&
I could reproduce this with both kernel 2.4.21 and 2.6.0-test9.
Versions of packages that might be relevant:
gcc 3.2.3-1
autoconf 2.58-1
automake 1.7.8-1
gnome-session 2.4.1-1
xfree86 4.3-2
gnome-terminal 2.4.2-1

Hardware information: Tyan S2460 with 2xAthlonMP CPU, ATI Radeon 7500, LCD
monitor attached to the DVI port.

Including the full output of (lscpi -vvvn) in case it might help.

Not really sure what other information would be useful.

HTH.

This is a duplicate of bug #146. There is a commenton bug 146 that says that
this has been fixed. Can you confirm?
