Xorg.0.log

Setup:
Hardware: Lenovo thinkpad T60 (2007-63G) with X1400 mobility
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X1400
          01:00.0 0300: 1002:7145
Operating system: Current opensuse-factory (~11.0beta2)
Xorg: 7.3
Driver: radeon from xf86-videa-ati, git head, drm from git head

Problem:
Once I've started the X-server the framebuffer console (vesafb) is corrupted. I can still make out some details like blinking cursor or that my cursor is red, but nothing is readable any more.

Does disabling tiling help?

Option "ColorTiling" "False"
Comment 3 Jörg Mayer 2008-05-06 18:36:26 UTC
No, it didn't make a difference. That included a reboot to make sure nothing was mixed up by the previous driver settings.

Details of lower left screen

The thicker line at the bottom near but not at the right side blinks (is the cursor).

Does a newer version of the driver help (6.9.0 or newer)?

Hello:

I've also experience this issue, but not on a regular basis. I only got the screen like that when x (badly) crashes. I've been using radeon versions up to 6.12.6. I'm now on 6.13. I'll pay attention if I see this again.

Debian testing/sid
xserver 1.7.6
mesa 7.7.1
libdrm 2.4.18
linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (from Debian)

Thanks.

Please reopen if this is still an issue.

Since I switched to KMS a long time ago I do not care about this bug any more. Unfortunately this bugzilla doesn't offer a "CLOSED - DONTCARE" resolution.
