>Instead of apply, it needs to say "Install", "Remove" I had this originally, and people complained that they could not "find" the other button. Maybe threee buttons might be the best way, with the 'other' button greyed out. >Why are certain packages preselected? They are the packages already installed >Where do I get the information I'm looking for What information? If you click on the package, you should get the common data coming up at the bottom of the screen. You also didn't specify what distro you are using or the version of PackageKit you have installed. Fedora 9 with PackageKit 0.2.3 (as in bug summary) The information I was looking for was in earlier versions of PackageKit in the tabs labelled (if I recall correctly) "Description", "File list", "Required by", "Requires" with the "Homepage" button if that information was known. I can't do anything obvious with the pre-selected packages, other than wipe them off my system, but the apply button is inoperable with the pre-selection, so why bother? I've tested the UI on 3 people who have never used PackageKit before, and only one person needed to refer to the docs. Closing. |
