I can not tell what the apply button is going to do. Instead of apply, it needs to say "Install", "Remove" or whatever the action is going to be. Why are certain packages preselected? And why is there no action I can take on the preselected packages? The information tabs are gone. Where do I get the information I'm looking for (oh wait, its in a menu that requires two clicks to get the information and which provides me with a blocking window)? Although the tabs had some problems, this UI is IMO worse. A better fix for the tabs would have been to do something to read in all the information on the package at once and to retain it.

If you click on the package, you should get the common data coming up at the bottom of the screen. You also didn't specify what distro you are using or the version of PackageKit you have installed.
Fedora 9 with PackageKit 0.2.3 (as in bug summary) The information I was looking for was in earlier versions of PackageKit in the tabs labelled (if I recall correctly) "Description", "File list", "Required by", "Requires" with the "Homepage" button if that information was known. I can't do anything obvious with the pre-selected packages, other than wipe them off my system, but the apply button is inoperable with the pre-selection, so why bother?
I've tested the UI on 3 people who have never used PackageKit before, and only one person needed to refer to the docs. Closing.
