1. My computer has a VGA compatible controller Intel Corp. Centiga Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) The computer locks up when I use the multimedia systems selecter to test my video when the default output plugin is autodetect.(screenshot attached) 2. My system Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00 GHZ GNOME 2.22.3 (uBUNTU 2008-07-09) kERNEL 2.6.24-19 ((#1 smp wED aUG 20 22:56:21 utc 2008) OS Type Linux GCC Version 4.2.3(i486-linux-gnu) Xorg version unknown (13 june 2008 01:08:21AM) machine Equus Computer Systems Nobilis # EQCA1068435 notebook display Mobil Intel(R) Series Express Chipset Family [ Display adapter](2x) Seiko Epson 15.4 [Monitor](15.4"vis) 3. Click on "System - Preferences -Multimedia Systems Selector". (If "Multimedia Systems Selector" is not present then right click on "Applications edit menus". Scroll down and click in "System Preferences" then check "Multimedia Systems Selector") Click on "video" tab. Default Output "plugin" should be "Autodetect". Click on test. The computer locks up. Chuck, have you tried with new releases as Eric noted? There's a critical bug in older drivers for GM45. You must try 2.6.28-rc kernel with 2.4.3 xf86-video-intel driver or newer.
