The problem seem to be with the images.  gv and kghostview have no
problem with it.

It seems to work for me. What libspectre version are you using and what's exactly the problem with the images? could you provide a screenshot showing the problem?

Okular viewing pages 8 & 9 of the problematic file

libspectre versions 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 both exhibit this behaviour.  The GhostScript version is 8.62 (Debian version 8.62.dfsg.1-3.1).

Works here for me on 0.2.2 are you on 32 or 64 bits?
