When I get the blank screen the X server is not running anymore. The screen stays blank unless I restart X with a working driver revision or reboot, just switching to another VT leaves me with a blank screen. Thanks again. Using 'startx' X quits with the following error message: X: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so: undefined symbol: drmCheckModesettingSupported ## xf86-video-intel 2.6.3 xorg-server 1.5.3 Ok, I found the reason for the missing symbol. There was still an old libdrm 2.3 in /usr/local/lib64 left from a manual installation. After cleaning, everything works as expected. Sorry for the noise! |
