On kernel to 2.6.29.1 I've tried upgrade intel drivers to 2.7.0 and start xorg. What I see is shown in attachment. That's gdm login screen, but it's messy. I'm able to move mouse cursor or print anything althought it's really hard to read what I've entered and where.

You need a kernel patch after 2.6.29.1. See http://intellinuxgraphics.org/2009Q1.html (that's the tree we tested).
