Description Sven Arvidsson 2009-08-08 11:12:08 UTC
The recent change to enable texture tiling by default broke the game Warzone 2100. It hangs shortly after starting, before displaying the menu.

-- system architecture: 32-bit
-- Linux distribution: Debian unstable
-- Machine or mobo model: Asus P5Q-EM
-- Display connector: DVI
-- KMS: enabled
-- xf86-video-intel: 50e2a6734de43a135aa91cd6e6fb5147e15ce315
-- xserver: 1.6.3
-- mesa: a962c07cc3e5fba3be5c08071bc7abc5d840f138
-- drm: 9aed44beeac4f250a58c792d64a4dee1dde3d086
-- kernel: 2.6.31-rc5 (debian)

Hangs like GPU hangs? Make sure you update your 2D driver, which fixes hangs with GL, and if it still occurs, could you include an intel_gpu_dump?

Just tried with git master of xf86-video-intel and drm, same behaviour. doesn't seem to be a GPU hang as I can kill the process and get a working X back.

I'm attaching both a gpu dump and a backtrace in case it's still helpful.

Switching to the console and back again brings the game back to life.

Mass version move, cvs -> git
