Description Soeren Sonnenburg 2005-02-03 01:07:58 UTC
when running X in a true dualhead setup, ie. with two separate displays :0 and
:1 (radeon M9 on 1GHz powerbook G4) it continuosly eats memory such that in the
end (after a couple of days) it takes like 800MB and the machine needs to be
restarted because of that.

this memory - leak existed already in xfree86 4.3 times

resttest.c did not show any memory usage except than a couple of megabytes...

Does the memory leak go away if you turn off accel?
Comment 3 Soeren Sonnenburg 2005-11-29 07:32:13 UTC
no, it is still there even w/o accel
Comment 4 Erik Andren 2006-04-18 00:21:59 UTC
Are you still experiencing this issue using a modern version of xorg?
Comment 5 Soeren Sonnenburg 2006-04-18 16:04:44 UTC
yes, but I've found out that it only appears when I use evolution... so
evolution -via xorg leaks memory... even if I close/kill evolution the memory is
taken and listed by xorg not sure whether this is a bug in xorg though...
