Description Hacksaw 2005-03-04 16:04:51 UTC
Every so often, usually triggered by fast scrolling in Firefox, or when
switching between workspaces, the screen will freeze for about ten seconds.

In trying to trace this, I discovered that during these freezes, the X server
suddenly demands all the CPU cycles it can get, usually going up to 99.9%, then
falling back down precipitously.

Not loading the dri module helps but doesn't eliminate the problem. Starting
with a depth of 16 doesn't help.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

Is this still an issue? Can you provide more information?

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
