Hello, The bug @archlinux was closed, it seems that Blender does not crash any more with xorg 1.8.1.902, mesa 7.8.2, kernel 2.6.34 and kms. There was still some artefacts in X when KMS was disabled. If any other crash happen (since there was some random ones), I will report it here. Thanks Hello, I am coming back on this because this problem still exists! It seems that it only happens when I am using two screens, I have been using my laptop for 2 months by itself without problems, and now that I come back using my dock + extra screen, I get freezes again. I am using: kernel 2.6.34.1 xorg-server 1.8.1.902 xf86-video-ati 6.13.1 mesa 7.8.2 libdrm 2.4.21 KMS is enabled (and if not, I still get the ugly artifacts, not usable at all!). It happens some times, when I am closing windows for example, the screen just freeze then turn black. I attach the kernel.log and xorg.log for the session before the crash. Thanks Created attachment 37328 [details] [review] dmesg 2.6.34.1, kms enabled Created attachment 37329 [details] [review] xorg logs, 2.6.34.1, kms enabled Is this still an issue with a newer mesa or kernel? Hi, It seems the crash itself stopped, The bug can be closed I think, Blender seems to work nicely. I opened bug #30297 that is not exactly the same, don't know if it is linked… Thank you! Closing, thanks. |
