Description Bob Gleitsmann 2010-10-20 19:23:52 UTC
When pressing ctl-alt-del in a kde session, the normal result is a dialog pops up with options and the background stays put, gradually fading to monochrome. This commit causes the background to change immediately to garbage. No error appears in dmesg or Xorg.0.log. Reverting the commit fixes the problem. Note that it didn't revert cleanly and part of it had to be manually deleted, probably made a mistake somewhere (me did).
OK, maybe not total random garbage. Gray, with retrace like-lines and sometimes parts of windows.

Bye

ajax, any thoughts on what might be going on here? It looks like TraverseTree is returning WT_NOMATCH and pPixmap is invalid (not yet rendered?) and returned.

Possibly related?

Bob, can you try the patch given in that email?
Comment 3 Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia 2011-05-30 10:11:22 UTC
Yeah, Daniel thinks that this is probably the same root cause. I'll be including that change in the next release.
Comment 4 Bob Gleitsmann 2011-05-31 18:23:56 UTC
I tried the suggested patch and it did NOT correct the problem.
