From the mailing lists I thought that this should have been fixed in version 0.14 but in my install of Fedora Core 2 test releases (started on FC2t2, currently on current Rawhide) all of my MS Excel and PowerPoint documents are still being misidentified by Nautilus, which as far as I understand uses shared-mime-info. The RPM package is version is shared-mime-info-0.14-1, built on March 22, 2004; update-mime-database reports version 0.14. Oops, that seems to have been a package installation problem; probably update-mime-database hadn't been run. Sorry for the noise, it works fine nowas far as I can tell. their file structure should be OLE container for all MSOffice apps. that's why they are similar Closing this bug |
