Description Brian Nickel 2004-04-02 10:13:18 UTC
Both Excel and Powerpoint files have similar beginnings to .doc and they keep
showing up as .doc's 100% of the time.
Comment 1 Per Bjornsson 2004-05-01 04:50:33 UTC
From the mailing lists I thought that this should have been fixed in version
0.14 but in my install of Fedora Core 2 test releases (started on FC2t2,
currently on current Rawhide) all of my MS Excel and PowerPoint documents are
still being misidentified by Nautilus, which as far as I understand uses
shared-mime-info. The RPM package is version is shared-mime-info-0.14-1, built
on March 22, 2004; update-mime-database reports version 0.14.
Comment 2 Per Bjornsson 2004-05-01 05:28:52 UTC
Oops, that seems to have been a package installation problem; probably
update-mime-database hadn't been run. Sorry for the noise, it works fine nowas
far as I can tell.

their file structure should be OLE container for all MSOffice apps.
that's why they are similar
