This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16089

"When opening a french document in evince, the display of french letters (é, è,
à, ê ...) is correct but when I try to print it, these letters are not printed
correctly (replaced by strange characters..). This works well in acroread.

Comment 1 Sebastien Bacher 2005-09-24 04:03:35 UTC
printing to a .ps has the same behaviour, quite annoying since it screws
whatever non-english pdf you print

that's using poppler 0.4.2 or current CVS
Comment 2 Sebastien Bacher 2005-09-24 04:05:38 UTC
when opening the printer dialog it writes this:

"(evince:5460): GnomePrint-WARNING **: Could not create filter from description
'GnomePrintFilterFrgba': filter 'GnomePrintFilterFrgba' is unknown

(evince:5460): GnomePrintCupsPlugin-WARNING **: iconv does not support ppd
character encoding: ISOLatin1, trying CSISOLatin1"

Seems to be the same issue than
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4555. Any reason to not use the 1
line patch on the other bug? It fixes the issue for me.
