This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16089 "When opening a french document in evince, the display of french letters (é, è, à, ê ...) is correct but when I try to print it, these letters are not printed correctly (replaced by strange characters..). This works well in acroread. ... >Thanks for the bug report. Christophe, could you provide us with an example .pdf? ... http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/attachment.cgi?id=4011 Here you are" GNOME bugzilla about this: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317042
printing to a .ps has the same behaviour, quite annoying since it screws whatever non-english pdf you print that's using poppler 0.4.2 or current CVS
when opening the printer dialog it writes this: "(evince:5460): GnomePrint-WARNING **: Could not create filter from description 'GnomePrintFilterFrgba': filter 'GnomePrintFilterFrgba' is unknown (evince:5460): GnomePrintCupsPlugin-WARNING **: iconv does not support ppd character encoding: ISOLatin1, trying CSISOLatin1"
Seems to be the same issue than https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4555. Any reason to not use the 1 line patch on the other bug? It fixes the issue for me.
