log when server crashed
Does it work with the properity nvidia driver? I don't know. And to be honest, I'd rather not try. The combination of recent self-compiled kernel, SMP and PREEMPT in my experience do not mix well with the proprietary nvidia driver. If it really helps something, I could give it a try. But changes are that this crashes my machine (which is used by me and some co-workers) so I have to do this outside office hours. So, do I have to? :) No, of course not. I was just trying to collect some additional information. Created attachment 6177 [details]
crash still present after Xorg update
hi again. just in case enyone is interested: the crash is still present in Xorg
7.0.0 as it falls out of Debian sid.
When 7.1 makes it into Debian, I will test again...
FYI: Debian just gave me a new X: X Window System Version 7.1.1 Release Date: 12 May 2006 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.1.1 Build Operating System: UNKNOWN Current Operating System: Linux vollzeit 2.6.15.3 #4 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 9 20:51:12 CEST 2006 x86_64 Build Date: 07 July 2006 ...and the crash is gone. I still dont have dual-head but I assume this is a configuration issue. I'will play around with that before assuming a bug here. |
