Are you able to start the system in non-graphical mode or does the hang happens even before X starts ? If it works with non-graphical, what happen when you start X manually ? Can you provide the X log ? I just start into text mode and the hang happens there already. The strange thing is there is nothing, Linux outputs to the ring buffer. Using another RAM module and the system works fine. So the crash was due to a bad RAM module. Unfortunately, Memtest86+ did not find that error, so I was unsure about it and had to get another module first. Sorry for the noise. No, idea if INVALID would be more appropriate than NOTABUG. Please change that, if I made the wrong choice. Thanks for the follow up. |
