Description jimmybgood9 2006-07-12 11:07:40 UTC
Gl apps run smoothly for a second or two, then start to jitter and the ERROR
message (below) is issued. PPRacer runs (in 3D) up to the start of the race,
fails to display it, then the computer freezes completely. Some screensavers do
the same, others don't. Looks like a GPU lock.

Looks somewhat like Bug #7236. I use the latest cvs drm and mesa and latest git
xserver and via driver.

Linux kernel 2.6.16.24 - Lock occurs with both kernel via and drm module and cvs
modules.

Hardware: Via unichrome built-in to Biostar K8N800M7 misdetected as the similar
Biostar K8VGA-M

jim:~% dmesg|grep drm

The error message is a bug in the via 2D driver.
It's fixed in the openChrome driver http://www.openchrome.org, but not yet
pushed into Xorg git. This is a duplicate of 7456.

However, the ppracer hang is a duplicate of bug #5092.
