Description Tor Lillqvist 2014-04-10 06:15:23 UTC
Insert an animated GIF in a Writer document. Watch the weirdness. Does not seem to happen on Linux, so don't bother trying to reproduce on Linux.

In case the bug depends on how complex the animated GIF is, it happens at least for the one I now added to the odk/examples/java/DocumentHandling/test/test1.odt document.
Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.2.2.1 release

Tor, not sure where to find that test file. Could you attach it?

It's in the LibreOffice source code. But did you try at all with *any* animated GIF? Only if the problem is not reproducible with any random animated GIF might it be worth it to try that test doc... I say so in the initial comment.

4.2.3: gif adds fine, then only displays the first image, wait, wait some more, then gif is played animated just fine.

latest nightly: gif plays instantly.

test case attached.

Tor, what do you think? WORKSFORME? Did you try with latest nightly? Please re-open if you disagree and add more detail.

Comment 5 Tor Lillqvist 2014-04-13 10:56:06 UTC
I build LibreOffice myself of course, no need for me to use nightlies.
Comment 6 foss 2014-04-13 12:30:47 UTC
And with your own build, do animated gifs work fine?
Comment 7 Tor Lillqvist 2014-04-13 13:44:27 UTC
If they would, I wouldn't have filed this bug, would I?
