Xorg.0.log

I'm have a new Acer Aspire with an AMD A8-7100 Radeon R5 kaveri chipset with F20. I'm running the 3.16.2 kernel, which includes the patch to recognize the chipset, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82912.

I've also patched libdrm, mesa. and xorg-x11-drv-ati-7.2.0-3.20131101git3b38701.fc20.x86_64

The kernel recognizes the R 5, but radeon doesn't load: see Xorg.0.log attached.

Maybe related, the mouse cursor is odd - small, squished - and a 1" x 1/4" white rectangle is just below and to the right of the cursor.

Ok, but I applied the patches to the other three : libdrm, ati, mesa.

Did you patch /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers/ati_drv.so as well as /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so? If not, you need to explicitly choose the radeon driver in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
