Description northar 2014-10-10 08:34:11 UTC
One construction that makes it very hard to nicely translate certain things in Swedish (and, I'm sure, in other languages) is the postfix of disk, i.e:

#. Translators: Used to describe generic media. The %s is the type, e.g. 'Zip' or 'Floppy'
#: ../udisks/udisksobjectinfo.c:595
#, c-format
msgctxt "drive-with-generic-media"
msgid "%s Disk"
msgstr "%s-disk"

The reason is, in Swedish it would be listed as example:

Zip-disk
Jaz-disk
Diskett-disk <- Very strange

So, in some occasions I would like the -disk addition, and sometimes not.
It suggest to leave it to the translators to decide when to add the -disk extension, i.e. let us translate the whole mediastrings on our own, and skip the "magic" disk-addition.

Then I could have, for example:

Zip-disk
Jaz-disk
Diskett

And so on..

Another textbug found:

#: ../data/org.freedesktop.udisks2.policy.in.h:43
msgid "Authentication is to rescan a device"
msgstr "Autentisering krävs för att söka av en enhet"

I think it should be
->Authentication is required to rescan a device

This was bug 86276 and is fixed in git now.
