GPU crash dump

[Wed Jun 3 15:50:37 2015] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[Wed Jun 3 15:50:37 2015] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[Wed Jun 3 15:50:37 2015] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[Wed Jun 3 15:50:37 2015] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[Wed Jun 3 15:50:37 2015] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.

I just noticed the above in my dmesg, however I did not notice this as a crash until the next day (probably not even related), the next day I got
[Thu Jun 4 21:15:45 2015] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... render ring idle
to which I don't know how to proceed on, this error I get every other day and I must reboot to use my computer again.

We seem to have completely neglected this bug. Apologies. I'm going to assume we've fixed the bug, closing. Please reopen if the problem persists with latest kernels.
Comment 2 Anders Sandblad 2016-06-17 15:56:25 UTC
Actually, I purchased an nvidia card and didn't bother anymore.

There's another bug report about drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed which also has been "neglected".

Thanks
