GPU crash dump

[ 1.372991] vgaarb: device changed decodes: PCI:0000:00:02.0,olddecodes=io+mem,decodes=io+mem:owns=io+mem
[ 1.427301] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[ 1.427305] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[ 1.427309] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 1.427313] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 1.427316] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.

Reassigned to submitter.
How do you reproduce it and on which platform?
Comment 2 Chris Wilson 2015-08-16 13:18:20 UTC
It is triggered by i915.ko loading and overwriting live entries (being used by the BIOS for scanout) in the GTT. It happens on all platforms, though this error itself is only detected on gen3/4, and is a regression from around 3.2.

The answer to that is in the error state.

Timeout. Assuming that it is fixed by now. If this is not the case, please re-test with latest kernel & Mesa to see if this issue is still occurring since there were improvements pushed in kernel and Mesa that will benefit to your system.
