Please attach contents of /sys/class/drm/card0/error and dmesg output Created attachment 119705 [details] dmesg Hello, The error-file is 0 Kb (and if I try to open it, it says I have no permission but I think I have to change the user for that..?) The file */var/log/dmesg *I have attached (but not the other dmesg-files). Thank you in advance! It worked allright. After that I had to install 15.10 (64 bit). It also works allright. I mean to say there is nothing wrong with the laptop. Good luck with Ubuntu. Created attachment 119634 [details] syslog or should I attach gpu.html? Unexpected black screen with nothing but (logout) beep. I have to press the off-button for a few seconds and then I have to turn it on again. Since: the beginning I installed full Ubuntu 14.0.4 LTS (instead of Vista). At the same time I had to install a new harddisk, which seems to work okay, but it is thinner-shaped, so I had to turn my laptop upside down. Sometimes I can "work" all day, sometimes I get it every couple of minutes.
