Description Kenneth Graunke 2016-11-25 03:00:03 UTC
"Master of Orion" with default settings on my Skylake GT4 flickers horribly. Start the game, skip through the cinematics with Escape, and get to the main menu. It looks like the game is repeatedly destroying its window over and over and getting some kind of X errors. KWin at least complains about it mightily.

Disabling AA helps:

We should figure out whether this is a driver bug, game bug, or packaging issue.

hi Kenneth. I had a chance to check this game. From what I found, it was a mesa bug.

CPU - SKL
GPU - HD Graphics 530
Ubuntu 16.04
kernel - 4.17.3-041703-generic

Mesa versions:
10.6.0 - reproduced (after setting "AA=false" issue disappeared)
17.2.2 - reproduced
18.0.4 - didn't reproduce
18.2.0 (git from 16.07) - didn't reproduce

So I suggest to close this issue as fixed somewhere after 17.2.2 mesa version. If it is important, which commit fixed it, notify me please and I'll bisect it.
