Are you searching for a particular text? Do certain searches work and not others? Does running "pdftotext" on your file show the results you expect? Have you yourself tried this with evince or do you just assume evince has the same problem? What version of poppler are you using? It's possible that it's already fixed in a newer version of poppler. If you are able, please attach the document or if you prefer, email the document to me. It's difficult to know what is wrong without the PDF. If it makes you more comfortable to know something about me -- I am not the poppler maintainer; I am just some guy who has managed to get his name in the poppler git log, but I have been trusted with medical and financial data at my day job and I haven't stolen anything yet.
