If you can attach the Xorg.log from when it crashes and check /var/log/mdm/ for any additional logs. Created attachment 129163 [details]
Xorg.0.log
There is a old log, I guess from before the crash do you want to see that one aswell?
It just crashed as I was writing this so I few more logs now!

log after initial crash
sorry the initial log after changing driver back to intel has gone after second crash! Hmm. The "log after initial crash" was truncated. Did the system reboot? Can you try and grab whatever logs you can for a crash (look at the tail for something dire) and also grab the dmesg after a crash? Created attachment 129165 [details]
from the journal at time of crash
It doesnt reboot just goes to the log-in screen
Ah, it is the input locking bugs in Xorg-1.19. Great thanks, is there a fix? Or do I just go back to previous version? I'm up to 3 patches for X in bug 99358 - so far looks like that may have caught it. Thanks Chris - I have never done this before, is there some instructions on how to get these patches. I had a look for your name in the maintainers list but did see it? Not sure what to do next:-) Patches has been merged into Xorg. Let's assume that was everything... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 99358 *** |
