Description Jacopo De Simoi 2017-03-21 00:46:08 UTC
I am trying to run a Plasma session on sna+DRI2, but the X server crashes right after displaying the splash screen with a failed assert. ssdm and a simple X session started with startx work fine. uxa also works fine

(I am on skylake if that matters)

Please attach the full Xorg.0.log, and since you are compiling with --enable-debug, recompile with --enable-debug=full.

Just FYI:

- Not setting TearFree does not make a difference, it still hits the same
failed assert.

- Starting kwin_x11 and plasmashell from a plain x shell does not trigger the
crash. startkde instead triggers the crash
Comment 4 Chris Wilson 2017-03-22 00:20:45 UTC
Hmm, you may have to use Option "NoTearFree" to prevent TearFree being loaded if you have FBC or PSR enabled.

another log with failed assert

Attaching Xorg.0.log, xorg-server compiled with --enable-debug=full. This looks similar to what's happening in this bug, except that assert does not fail on Plasma load, but rather non-deterministically some time later.
