reproduce:
 (1) boot 4.4 kernel in the guest.
 (2) load i915 driver.
 (3) kill guest.
 (4) restart guest.

result:
  starting qemu fails with:
  ERROR: PCI region size must be pow2 type=0x0, size=0x1fa1000

fixed by [PATCH] drm/i915/gvt: exclude cfg space from failsafe mode
