The newest releases of shared-mime-info are not available for translation on Translation Project which causes all languages except English to lag. Current release: 0.20 On Translation Project: 0.17
Please do, the French translation is full of nonsense: e.g. "chiffier" or "chiffrier" (non-existing French words) all over the place instead of "fichier" (that means "file" in French)! For a shell like fish (<http://fishshell.org/>) that use the MIME database for file-type descriptions, this looks particularly odd and ugly.
Thanks, fixed.
Sorry, I cannot understand what the fix was (I am new both to translation and Freedesktop...): shouldn't the link at the top of the page <http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/translation/registry.cgi?domain=shared-mime-info> to <http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/translation/domains/POT/shared-mime-info-0.17.pot> have been updated?!? FYI in fact I found out "chiffrier" is a real word (it means "spreadsheet") but it is *Canadian* French, not French as it is spoken in France... "chiffier" seems to be a typo though.
Sorry, reopening. I accidentally closed this one as well although I just wanted to close bug 10264 and bug 10266.
shared-mime-info 0.21 is available for translation on the translation project page.
