Description David Pinedo 2017-05-02 19:25:06 UTC
This might be a duplicate of bug 99561.

When playing Portal2, the game will sometimes freeze for a few seconds before continuing. Get the following output from /proc/kmsg when the hang occurs:

<6>[2324542.553932] [drm] stuck on render ring
<5>[2324542.561187] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang

The hang seems to happen more often when playing back a trace file of the game than when actually playing the game. The apitrace file is attached.

Thanks. I can reproduce the hang on SKL with mesa-17.0.5.
Comment 4 David Pinedo 2017-05-02 23:17:05 UTC
Unfortunately, I was asked to not make the trace file publicly available because it contains proprietary information (i.e. images created by Valve), so the trace file is no longer publicly available. If you need access to the trace file, please post your request in this bugzilla comment string. I can make it available on a case-by-case basis.
