This might be a duplicate of bug 99561. When playing Portal2, the game will sometimes freeze for a few seconds before continuing. Get the following output from /proc/kmsg when the hang occurs: <6>[2324542.553932] [drm] stuck on render ring <5>[2324542.561187] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang The hang seems to happen more often when playing back a trace file of the game than when actually playing the game. The apitrace file is attached.

Thanks. I can reproduce the hang on SKL with mesa-17.0.5.
Unfortunately, I was asked to not make the trace file publicly available because it contains proprietary information (i.e. images created by Valve), so the trace file is no longer publicly available.
