Blackboard bold characters [1] are used frequently in mathematics, but have very poor support in most fonts. They are present in Sans, but the serifed versions are much more common in actual usage, so I am proposing that they be added to Serif. The most commonly used letters are CHNPQRZ, as shown in [2]... these are the ones included in the BMP. Support for all uppercase letters would be welcome too, but not at such a high priority. Codepoints for CHNPQRZ: U+2102, 210D, 2115, 2119, 211A, 211D, 2124 For the other uppercase letters: U+1D538-1D551, with 7 exceptions [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackboard_bold [2] http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/double-struck.html
I believe the license of the AMS mathbb font is compatible with that of DejaVu. So these glyphs could be imported from there trivially, just needing a constant scaling factor to get the metrics to match.
The glyphs have been added in 2.22. Thanks!
