For the reference, I am using: local/xf86-video-intel 1:2.99.917+777+g6babcf15-1 (xorg-drivers) X.org Intel i810/i830/i915/945G/G965+ video drivers
The kernel did not start the next context. Update the kernel if we haven't fixed the bug, at the very least we added more state to the gpu dump to help debug what happened.
Unfortunately I had to stick to an LTS version so far because of other bugs. Will see whether things have changed now.

I haven't seen this again. But in any case, this also happened only once. So confidence in any direction.
