GPU crash dump

Sorry, I'm a normal user, not a dev. I saw the template but I don't know how to look up chipset etc. and I don't have time to research. I'll provide required info if someone tells me exactly how to do it. I'm a reasonably competent user but I am NOT a graphics card expert nor do I have time to become one.

syslog:

Lost HW context, needs a kernel update to circa 4.9 iirc.
Comment 2 James Harkins 2017-07-22 19:32:43 UTC
Ah, OK, thanks. It turns out that an update to kernel 4.10.0-27 is available (maybe was available for some time, but the software updater didn't pop up so I didn't know about it).

So I've updated and I guess that will take care of it.

Thanks for the info -- otherwise I would have assumed I'm up to date.

James
