The upper face of the cube was empty (no image) and no image even displayed for the skydome. The error reported in my .xsession-errors file is as follows: (process:2789): GLib-WARNING **: GError set over the top of a previous GError or uninitialized memory. This indicates a bug in someone's code. You must ensure an error is NULL before it's set. The overwriting error message was: File not found compiz: Failed to load slide: /usr/share/pixmaps/fedora-logo.png compiz: water: GL_ARB_fragment_program is missing Image files are reachable and readable by all users and I tried to specify other png files but the problem persist. I tried with a svg file and the image was shown in the cube upper face but not in the skydome. I tried specifying png and svg plugins (with gconf-editor) in the /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins in every position but no positive result with png files. I'm using a Fedora Core 6 with compiz on a 32 bit Pentium processor with an ATI video card and on a 64 bit AMD processor with a nVidia video card. The problem appear in both my systems. I noticed such problem since some weeks ago (after some updates).
Do you have png and/or svg plugins loaded?
Yes I have png and svg plugins in the /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins string.
Oh sorry, I didn't read your bug description properly. Have you tried putting the image in /usr/share/compiz and not set the option to an absolute path but just "fedora-logo.png"?
Yes, I do. But the error remains. I even tried to specify filename without extension (as it was by default), but no image at all.
Sorry... I made a mistake. I tried again to load png and svg plugins and now compiz shows images on the upper side of the cube and on skydome. It is enough to put the png plugin before the cube plugin in order to work. I have another problem with compiz but I will use another bug number for that.
The problem is resolved only on my AMD 64 bit platform with a nVidia card. Unfortunately on my 32 bit laptop with an ATI Radeon card the problem persists even putting the png and svg plugins right after the gconf.
Do you still have issue with recent mesa ?
No feedback for a long time and not enough info provided (like what driver was used) to resolve this issue. Closing as INVALID.
