* Kernel version: 4.4.0-78-generic

This is old. The last known bug here was fixed circa 4.10; please try checking with a recent kernel to see if the problem persists.
Comment 2 Peleg 2017-11-05 15:50:26 UTC
Is it possible to install a newer kernel on Ubuntu 14.04.5?

Yes; google will give you plenty of results on how.
Comment 4 Jani Saarinen 2018-03-29 07:11:12 UTC
First of all. Sorry about spam.
This is mass update for our bugs.

Sorry if you feel this annoying but with this trying to understand if bug still valid or not.
If bug investigation still in progress, please ignore this and I apologize!

If you think this is not anymore valid, please comment to the bug that can be closed.
If you haven't tested with our latest pre-upstream tree(drm-tip), can you do that also to see if issue is valid there still and if you cannot see issue there, please comment to the bug.
Comment 5 Peleg 2018-03-29 08:10:16 UTC
I am already using a new computer now, with a newer version of Ubuntu (kernel version #40~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 16 23:25:58 UTC 2018), and currently my GPU does not hang after suspend.
Comment 6 Jani Saarinen 2018-03-29 08:16:35 UTC
So ok to close this?
Comment 7 Peleg 2018-03-29 08:23:25 UTC
Sure (sorry, I am not sure how or what is the common workflow here).
Comment 8 Jani Saarinen 2018-03-29 08:27:17 UTC
No worries, thanks for the feedback.
