Description Matt 2017-11-06 00:09:32 UTC
Hello,

I was trying to use this tool:

https://github.com/bulletmark/libinput-gestures

On my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 running Ubuntu 16.04. When I run `libinput-gestures-setup start` I get the following message on STDERR

libinput error: libinput bug: Microsoft Surface Type Cover Touchpad:
Internal or external? Please file a bug.

I'm not actually trying to use gestures on my tiny surface pro touchpad--I have an apple magic trackpad attached that I'm attempting (and failing) to use gestures with.

However, if you would like to investigate this bug, which appears to have something to do with the surface trackpad, I'd be happy to participate however I can.

This was fixed in version 1.8 or so, see Bug 101101
