I upgraded to openSuse leaf 42.3 on an acer aspire one Laptop,
and very often I now get GPU hangs where dmesg says

drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang

checking dmesg I also found the following which led me to create this report:

[ 442.799709] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 6:0:0x00d1bba2, in Xorg [1837], reason: Hang on render ring, action: reset
[ 442.799713] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[ 442.799714] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 442.799715] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 442.799716] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
[ 442.799717] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[ 442.799781] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang
