journalctl -k

Other than that the card seems to run fine, e.g. runs Xorg, albeit without acceleration.

Kernel in use is 4.15.4, amdgpu, AMD DC. But the ring test also fails without AMD DC and on 4.14.20 too.

I don't suppose it works better without amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9 on the kernel command line?
Comment 4 erhard_f 2018-02-21 14:29:14 UTC
Just removed amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9 from my grub.cfg, but it does not make a difference for kernels 4.14.20 and 4.15.4.

Still no luck with kernel 4.15.14 or 4.16_rc7.

The 2nd card in this system got no problems with the ring test (R9 290).

Comment 7 Alex Deucher 2018-03-30 13:48:40 UTC
Does anything change if you try the cards in different slots in the motherboard?
Comment 8 erhard_f 2018-04-02 13:42:40 UTC
No luck either. Tried the R9 Nano in all the 3 PCIe slots (it's an ASUS A88X-Pro Rev 1.02 board), as single card without the other one. But error message stays the same.
Comment 9 erhard_f 2018-04-29 12:21:16 UTC
Sold the card.
