Example.

I have black NPC textures in Witcher 3 on Intel HD 630 GPU with Mesa 18.0. This can be fixed by manually setting low quality textures in game settings files (but not from the game menu settigns).

It occurs on vanilla Wine and Wine with DXVK. So Vulkan renderer also affected.

holy christ... Philip, are you seriously played Witcher 3 on integrated GPU???
I have this game and the same GPU with you... and even on minimal settings (I am using steam game version + proton, mesa - 18.1.5) - it is soooooo laggy!

But closer to the topic - I didn't reproduce your issue using Open GL, but - when I set "High" settings (even won't say that game became into the flow of static pictures, with 6 seconds response to the mouse) - Geralt became bald :)

attached screenshot

tomorrow will try to run it using vulkan

oh, sorry for mess, proton already uses dxvk, so I gess, render was vulkan, not open gl.

I know that's weird :) But i do this just for testing purposes.

> Geralt became bald :)
Yes, that's because of HairWorks, disable it and you'll be fine.

Actually, issues with black textures on Intel HD already fixed (in DXVK at least; i didn't tried WineD3D). So i can close this bug report.

Yes, performance is not good. I got 15-25 fps (depending on location) on minimal settings in 800x600 resolution. But that's playable if you not picky gamer :)

And i have better performance in 640x480, but it's impossible to play in this resolution because text is not readable.

By the way, enabling vsync makes the game run smoother. Without vsync there are much stutters.

Also you can set graphics even lower than possible in game settings by manually editing user.settings and rendering.ini files. And then performance can be improved by 5-10 and fps. Not much, but noticeable in case of integrated GPU.

got you. I saw that you mentioned changing settings in the config, not through the game.
Thank you for explanations, this information could be helpful in the future.
