Description Paul Menzel 2018-04-18 08:59:32 UTC
The hardware list of the test lab [1] doesn’t list an Intel 8th generation system.

Please request, for example, a Dell XPS 13 9370 from Dell through their business channel and integrate it.

HI,
Why KBL not enough?
fi-kbl-7560u
Dell XPS 13
Kaby Lake i7-7560u
Iris Plus Graphics 640 / gt3e	eDP, TB->DP-MST

Why need to be KBL-R?
Comment 2 Jani Saarinen 2018-04-20 09:02:35 UTC
I will resolve this as not really a bug.
Comment 3 Jani Saarinen 2018-04-20 09:03:20 UTC
And we have KBL-R in CI.
fi-kbl-r	Intel Kaby Lake-R RVP	Kaby Lake		eDP->4k-PSR (DP,HDMI)

It’s different hardware, and therefore should be tested, shouldn’t it?

The Dell system is sold with GNU/Linux, so it’d be great to make sure, that everything works as expected to not disappoint customers buying that product. (I aware that an old Ubuntu distribution is shipped, but commits get back ported to Linux 4.4(?) also.)

Absolutely agree, that is why we have those Dell XPS systems in our CI.
Will see how soon we can get this model there.
