Created attachment 139633 [details] gpu crash dump The card locks up on Gnome under Wayland pretty frequently (at least once a day). I've seen this on Ubuntu 18.04, Fedora 27 and now Gentoo. The dump attached is from Gentoo, Please let me know if you need any more information :)
New card maybe, but a very old kernel limiting the amount of debug information available. Please do make sure you update both the kernel and userspace drivers.
The current kernel version is 4.9.95 - happy to upgrade. What would be a version that can give you the most debug info ? thank you !
Best would be if you could use the current drm-tip (instructions here: https://01.org/linuxgraphics/documentation/build-guide-0) and enable debug logs with kernel parameters drm.debug=0x1e log_buf_len=1M
Cyril, were you successful in trying with an updated kernel? Let us know if there is anything missing in that document.
Hello, thank you for pinging me here. I've udpated the kernel to 4.16.11 from gentoo so far. The hangs are much less severe right now (do not trigger Gnome shell reset) but still appear. Did not have much more time to do the full upgrade from sources as you suggested yet, sadly. Will keep you posted. Thank you
OK, Thanks, just send requested info to see logs from latest drm-tip.

Will keep you posted. Thank you Hi Cyryl, do you have any update?
Not really, no, haven't had time to do any further experiments. You can close this issue if that's easier for you for now and I can reopen/created a new one when I'll have more details - let me know what you think. thanks !
Hi, based on this feedback closing now, let's re-open when testing done with newer kernels. Making it works-for-me even not necessarily right one.
