When using DejaVu Sans Mono at 8pt with no font smoothing turned on (no cleartype or aliasing), opening and closing parenthesis are not symmetrical.  I expect them both to look like the "closing" version.

Windows XP SP2
No cleartype or aliasing
DPI setting: 96dpi
