Description Victor Porton 2018-06-24 20:19:49 UTC
gl-117 3D game runs with a good FPS. But when I place mouse over a text inscription in the game menu, it lags VERY much.

Ubuntu 18.04

Would you be able to test using https://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm-tip and send dmesg with drm.debug=0x1 log_buf_len=4M from boot to issue happening.

Not sure if this could be even Mesa issue?
Comment 2 Victor Porton 2018-06-25 10:57:17 UTC
I do not want to run experimental kernel software on my production PC.
Comment 3 Jani Saarinen 2018-06-25 11:02:33 UTC
Can you try then 4.17 upstream kernel and send debug logs? And what is Mesa version you are using? Can you also update that?
Comment 4 Victor Porton 2018-06-25 12:39:49 UTC
How to try try then 4.17 upstream kernel on Ubuntu 18.04 without damaging the system? Could you refer me to a detailed guide?

It seems I have the following mesa:

$ apt show libegl-mesa0
Package: libegl-mesa0
Version: 18.0.0~rc5-1ubuntu1

How can I update it without damaging my system?

Sadly for this bug report, I exchange disks of two computers, what makes me unable to test it any further.

While I have not yet pulled out the disks, I can give this information:

With this information it is hard to debug further. I will mark this is not fixed.
